Due to operational conditions arising from construction on the north section of the new Alfonso Reyes Avenue, the municipality of San Pedro announced that from Monday, April 13, to Friday, April 24, vehicle traffic in the work zone will be maintained with one lane per direction. Temporarily, it will not be possible to implement the additional contraflow lane heading west during the hours of 06:00 to 08:00 and 18:00 to 20:00, as had been previously done on the stretch between Olimpiadas and Treviño. Currently, work is concentrated on the north section of the avenue, where a 47% progress has been achieved, thanks to intensive efforts carried out during Holy Week and Easter. The municipality warned that these adjustments could lead to longer travel times and thanked the community for their understanding, patience, and cooperation. Drivers using this artery were also advised to anticipate their trips, consider alternative routes, and drive with caution. The Municipal Government reiterated that the project is fundamental for improving mobility and urban infrastructure in the area and committed to continuing to provide timely updates on progress and the next phases of the project. This rehabilitation is being carried out to transform the mobility, safety, and urban image of San Pedro. The municipality initiated the project on November 3 of last year. Alfonso Reyes is one of the city's most important thoroughfares, and the project includes wide sidewalks for shared use by pedestrians and cyclists.
